Hello, my name is Tamzin. I am a qualified Hypnotherapist and Counsellor and an Accredited Member of The National Hypnotherapy Society and The National Counselling Society. I am on a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body**.
My hypnotherapy and counselling business is based in Lawrence Weston, Bristol.
I also have more than 10 years experience of working in schools, with students from reception up to year 13. Some of these schools include Gordano School, Clevedon School, Portishead Primary School, and St Ursula's E-Act Academy, among others.
I specialise in the social and emotional needs, and development, of students and I run several Relaxession After School Clubs. Through stress management and relaxation; one-to-one and group work; I aim to help improve student health and well being, and support their personal development, education, and learning.
For many years I have had an interest in understanding and helping people, which lead me to graduate with a BA degree in Psychology and Criminology. This was later followed by a Certificate of Higher Education in Social Sciences and Law in Counselling Skills at Bristol University.
I have always had a keen interest in alternative treatments and therapies and both hypnosis and self-hypnosis have been a source of curiosity and intrigue to me.
I have also been using relaxation, meditation and visualisation for a number of years, working with groups of primary and secondary school children.
The positive responses recieved have been very encouraging and it has been rewarding to see the difference it can make to children and the way that it has helped them.
This, in combination with my interests, qualifications, and experience, has rather naturally led in the direction of hypnotherapy and counselling, and my working with both adults, and children, to help them make changes and achieve personal goals .
I have successfully completed a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills, with distinction; a Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with distinction.
These were achieved through Chrysalis Courses, which is fully Accredited by The National Hypnotherapy Society and The National Counselling Society. These Diploma courses are also Accredited by the Royal College of Nursing.
I thoroughly enjoyed these courses, and I take great pleasure in applying the skills and knowledge I have developed.
I feel these skills are highlighted in a comment made by my Hypnotherapy Diploma tutor, Sue Preston. She said: "you have a thorough, orderly, logical, imaginative approach, which is exactly what is needed in a successful hypnotherapist" .
Now, as I continue to develop my hypnotherapy and counselling business, I know that I will continue to demonstrate my skills and enthusiasm in the work I do as a Hypnotherapist, Counsellor and Relaxation Specialist.
I look forward to working with you and helping you to achieve what you desire; to help you make those changes that can improve your life and your world!
